Why is shark protection or marine conservation important to you?
I love the sea and since we unfortunately don't have one in Munich, I like to travel to places where encounters with marine animals are possible. But also with people who are committed to their protection and the protection of habitats. Not all people have the interest or the opportunities to have these great experiences. That's why I want to share my knowledge with as many people as possible and inspire them for marine conservation.
Do you have any special skills, experiences or expertise?
- As a business psychologist, I have experience in personal development, training & coaching, seminar conception and implementation, knowledge transfer and also the great need to take away people's fear of sharks and to inspire them for shark conservation.
- I also really enjoy working with students and young adults. For the "kulturweit" voluntary service, I was at a school in Argentina. There, I was in charge of introducing the business game "Schülerfirma". I was also the contact person for teachers, students and their parents.
- I participated in the volunteer programme of Marine Dynamics in Gansbaai, South Africa. Marine Dynamics offers responsible shark tourism, does shark research (Dyer Island Conservation Trust) and runs the African Penguin & Seabird Sanctuary.
And which is your favourite shark?
Rhincodon typus (lat.)
Walhai (dt.)
Whale shark (engl.)
